Do NOT correspond with any user whom only leaves cell-phone or email details and in particular with any company not registering their physical address through either these pages or elsewhere. ALWAYS DO A BACKGROUND CHECK!

Forums

The Parts-Ring Forums or Forums has been set up to be as simple as possible – it follows, in most, the self moderation rule which means that you, the user are responsible for what you post.

Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to them being banned.

Members are asked to not act as “back seat moderators”. If members note an issue which contravenes something in these or site rules they are welcome to bring it to the attention of the webmaster or a member of a Moderator Team.

Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to the user being banned.

Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or asking for information on warez, crackz, etc. or re-printing material without permission will be banned.

Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites. The use of inline ([IMG][/IMG]) image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to will be removed.

Members should post in a way which is consistent with “normal writing”. That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently abusing this will be banned.

Members should use an appropriate, descriptive subject when posting a new topic.

Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. This includes offering hosting services (charged and free), installation services, solicitation etc. Recruiting members for your own projects (moderators, designers, professional MOD work, etc.) is not permitted and is also considered spam. Users posting spam will be banned.

The moderating, support and other teams reserve the right to edit, remove or put on moderation queue any post at any time. Please note that currently any very first post is NOT automatically placed in the moderation queue and will NOT be approved/disapproved according to the present Rules. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to Moderators and not users. This may be changed at any time if the website or the Forum(s) gets inundated with spam.

The above forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging (if in use at the time). Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to users being banned (as above) and/or the revocation of private messaging.

You may not link to warez, porn, racist or other similar hate sites.

Forums allow users to interact with each other through their email addresses – ensure that your email address submitted is not your main form of communication but rather for general use.  This is applicable to the TRADESTUFF database as well.

OPiC

What is OPiC? The Online Parts international Catalogue system is linked to your business registration and allows the registered user to add, edit or remove company sales catalogues. Common practice here would be to import a CSV loadsheet with the relevant parameters and data of your sales catalogue. For US English speakers, catalogue is the same as catalog.

How it works: Download the CSV template, populate the template with the manufacturer name, brief, long descriptions, packing weight, sizes, cost per unit, extended cost on bulk and an image file. Keep prices to the U$ Dollar. Initial date is automatically entered but the user must on an edit place the edit date to reflect when the pricing is valid.

From a practical standpoint where this would be most handy would be in the supply of electronic parts.

Cease and Desist

Please note: Cease and Desist. Any company which wishes us to remove their details or posts from this website must please contact us via: webmaster@parts-ring dot com using Cease and Desist plus company name in the subject line. Company mailing addresses must be used – we will not respond to generic email addresses. All business registrations are posted to categories ‘Business’ or ‘Technical’. A cease and desist note will remove details from business listing as well as article posts plus any infringing images and/or links.
